52 New: #44 Secret Sunset Spot

Hello November!  I have decided that November will be my month of hiking ---new trails, new spots for sunset, new spots for sunrise, sunset and sunrise in the same day...all the ways to make these tried and true O'ahu trails new again.  I kick started my thirty hikes in thirty days with another new spot for sunset .   Not only was this spot new , it was also "secret".  I will just say that if you know, you know.  Some may be able to determine the "secret" spot from my photos.  This is a trail that I have done a couple of times before, but never for sunset, making this Secret Sunset Spot my forty-fourth "new thing" and hike number four of thirty for the Hike November additional challenge I've created for myself.   It's always exciting to go hiking, but even more exciting in an "off limits" location and for the special specific occasion of watching the sunset.  I love a good sunset.  O'ahu sunsets are generally my favorite (and...

52 New: #43 Hauntingly Familiar Tea

Happy Halloween!   I love Halloween!  Really, I love any reason, excuse, to play dress up, to get into character...I think I wanted to be an actor in a previous life.  Costumes and wigs and putting together an ensemble, all sound like a really good time to me.  This year, I found myself lucky enough to have reason to get dolled, bloodied, and scary for several different types of festive events.  The first creepy event of the season was enjoying a few ghoulish spirits at a pop up Halloween Bar in Honolulu called Nightmare Honolulu .  Dressing up as Wednesday Addams from the old Addams Family T.V. show and movies was the kick off to some hauntingly familiar fun.   Next on the list of witchy wonders was hitting up all of the Pumpkin Patches I could think of with the kids.  We checked out a new one this year at Mari's Gardens in Mililani.  Two more--- Aloun Farms in Waipahu and the constant favorite Waimanalo Country Farms in Waimanalo....
