Pretty exciting stuff around here. On tomorrows agenda, watching paint dry. I always thought a house with two boys would be chaotic and wild. I guess not at ten in the morning.
Third monthly challenge complete! For March, my goal was to go to thirty different beaches for thirty days. To recap, in January I hiked thirty different trails for thirty days, and in February I practiced different styles of Yoga for twenty-eight days. Mountain. Mat. Marine. The first three months of my year long journey of completing monthly goals has been achieved. I feel good. I have worked my heart with cardio, worked my body with stretching, and worked my soul with the happiness that being outside, toes in the sand and salt water washing over me, can provide. I realize that a thirty day beach goal is not feasible for everyone. I am filled with gratitude that I live in a place where the beach is accessible, beautiful, and free. Born, not raised, in Hawai’i, believe it or not, up until this thirty day challenge, I was not much of a beach person. It seemed boring, hot, and out of my comfort zone. Ne...
Month eight is complete! August was a month of learning about new ingredients, trying new recipes, making a few mistakes in the kitchen, and filling our hearts and bellies with happiness and deliciousness. I’m so glad I made the eighth month of my twelve month long challenge/journey, a culinary challenge. Last month, in July, my challenge was to document delight…I documented it everyday for thirty days and then neglected to document my DELIGHT journey on the Blog. It could still happen… August is my youngest sons birth month. He loves to cook and bake and cause general chaos in the kitchen so it seemed appropriate that I make August the month of new recipes. Also, I love books…to include cookbooks…which I seem to have a pretty nice collection of. Anyway, I have all these cookbooks and many of them hadn’t even been cracked open or recipes attempted…until now. Most all the cookbooks turned out to be winners (with only a couple of non-...
...pumpkin patch in Hawaii! Last year, Zachy was two months old when fall (and all the festivities that go with it) arrived. We had the best intentions of heading out to the pumpkin patch in search of the perfect pumpkin for our new little pumpkin, but c-section mania, baby carrier issues, and sleeplessness prevented pumpkin patching. Not this year! Today's fun more than made up for missing out last year. I am amazed when I think about all the things Gabe did and saw over the course of a couple of hours for only $20. And here's the list: 1. Picked out the 2012 family pumpkin 2. Ate and dripped shave ice with and on brother 3. Decorated mini pumpkin 4. Observed Jackson Chameleons lounging on the arm of volunteer workers 5. Ate a hamburger (they don't do cheese) with brother 6. Petting zoo with 600lb pig, turtles, sheep, cow, donkey, and others 7. Pumpkin cannon (best event of the outing) 8. Large sweet tea in take home mason jar (moms treat of the day) 9. Real Trac...
