Kuli'ou'ou Valley Trail is a 1.3 mile trail along Kuli'ou'ou stream. This trail weaves through a fern filled forest in East Honolulu. This trail begins in the same place as the Kuli'ou'ou Ridge Trail hike. For the short, family friendly hike, you take the trail to the left. For a challenging, view filled trail---take the trail to the right.
On this Tuesday Trail day, we headed left for the pleasant stroll through Kuli'ou'ou Valley.
We saw tree roots that mimicked stairs. We encountered a stream bed filled with stacked rocks. We swatted our way through countless spiderwebs. We breathed in the fresh forest air and observed cute pink flowers at our feet.
While there were no ocean views or steep hills to climb, it was still nice to get out in nature and enjoy a more leisurely walk in the woods.
And in the end, we did end up spotting the ocean in the distance...as we walked to our car.
Looking forward to tackling the big brother trail to this quick valley trail soon---Kuli'ou'ou Ridge, I'm coming for you!
