26 Days

It's not a typo. I wasn't actually referring to the movie 28 Days and typed 26 Days by mistake. I looked at the calendar and realized that's all the time I have until our big party. I think this is the biggest party I have ever thrown. Three weeks out, there seems to be so much to do. How is that possible? It's just some food and drinks! It's been weighing on my mind for months...how could more not have been done sooner? Oh yeah, because I am a HUGE procrastinator. I thought this flaw would only pose a problem in school. Guess not. So, instead of calling to confirm this or that, I sit here and type...
Hopefully all my friends will understand (and remember that I'm a HUGE procrastinator) when they show up to the party and certain details have been left out...
And for my next distraction tactic, I will now clean my already clean house, bake cupcakes (I heard there's a shortage), and prepare a gourmet meal for our family dinner tonight.
Procrastination can be good.

eh sistah... relax! As long as there are good folks and good conversation, people are happy....of course you'll look gorgeous and there will be refreshments....sounds fantastic. Can't wait....love, lena

I met up with Mai Ly yesterday and got some great advice on some of the things I was worried about. Now I don't have to drink every night.

Mililani Exploration: Kipapa Stream Trail

Learn something new everyday. Today, I learned there is a lovely neighborhood park in walking distance from my house...and a fabulous hiking trail just behind that!  Today we were finally able to go on a hike---without driving (well, sort of...more on that later). We simply geared up, walked out of our house and to a trail we'd never explored before. Adventure Saturday! Today's hike was 2.2 miles (one way) on a partially old paved road, winding around the back woods of Mililani, down to Kipapa Stream, back up to...Costco in Waipio. Say what? We truly had not planned on arriving on the oustskirts of a farm that is directly across from our local Costco. Turtle Bay "LOST" Trail

Lost in Paradise is how I would describe yesterday's beach/forest trail that led us past crabs climbing on rocks, mongoose dashing across the trail, horses around the stables, a lone Pillbox, and finally to an iconic Banyan Tree famous for recurring roles in the television series "Lost" and an appearance in "Pirates of the Caribbean". My mother-in-law was on island visiting for a week, so Marina, Sarah, and I took her on a hiking adventure...followed up by a thirst quenching Bacon Basil Bloody Mary.  I have previously explored trails with my mother-in-law.  We have trekked through mud and mosquitos at Manoa Falls, walked up a windy Makapu'u, huffed up Hau'ula Loop, strolled the North Shore's Waimea Falls and Kahuku Point.  So, this visit was no different.  We found ourselves hiking pals again for two separate trails this trip, the Turtle Bay "LOST" Trail being the best of the two.
