52 New: #43 Hauntingly Familiar Tea

Happy Halloween!   I love Halloween!  Really, I love any reason, excuse, to play dress up, to get into character...I think I wanted to be an actor in a previous life.  Costumes and wigs and putting together an ensemble, all sound like a really good time to me.  This year, I found myself lucky enough to have reason to get dolled, bloodied, and scary for several different types of festive events.  The first creepy event of the season was enjoying a few ghoulish spirits at a pop up Halloween Bar in Honolulu called Nightmare Honolulu .  Dressing up as Wednesday Addams from the old Addams Family T.V. show and movies was the kick off to some hauntingly familiar fun.   Next on the list of witchy wonders was hitting up all of the Pumpkin Patches I could think of with the kids.  We checked out a new one this year at Mari's Gardens in Mililani.  Two more--- Aloun Farms in Waipahu and the constant favorite Waimanalo Country Farms in Waimanalo.  We definitely got our fair share of farms, pat

Only ten more "new things" to check off of my fifty-two new things resolution.  This past week I checked off item number forty-two with a new spot to see the sunset.  A new spot to watch the sunset has been on my list and this particular sunset was made better with the addition of a hike and the most incredible rainbows.   My friend April was my sunset hike adventure buddy.  She agreed to check out a new sunset hike location with me despite already having done a sunrise hike with another friend earlier in the day---thanks for going the extra mile for me April!  After an early wake up call for both me and April (her for a sunrise hike and me for a days harvest at the lettuce farm), we both had it in our minds to cancel our sunset hiking plans.  Luckily we pushed through.  If we hadn't gone, we would have missed an incredible show from Mother Nature.   I picked April up at four in the afternoon in order to allow an hour to arrive at our destination (afternoon traffic) and a

I started this "new things" challenge off with a sunrise and carried that new morning energy into the start of the forties with another sunrise experience---a sunrise picnic.  Have I experienced a sunrise before?  Yes.  Have I experienced a picnic before?  Yes.  Have I combined the two and experienced a sunrise picnic ?  No...until last weeks Wakeup Wednesday new thing number forty-one---Sunrise DIY Posh Picnic.  The previous Posh Picnic (new thing number thirty-seven if you are keeping track) was such a fun, successful experience, I knew I wanted to enjoy another one with friends.  The previous event was a sunset posh picnic.  The sunrise posh picnic was wonderful since it included two of my favorite things---sunrises and coffee with an added bonus of being on the beach.   Every event, no matter how big or how small, is worthy of a theme.  For the sunrise picnic, I chose the theme of brown and pink. Yes, colors were the theme.  If, like my husband, you don't believe co
