"New Moon"

Thank goodness for Verma at Mililani Borders. She knows I love Twilight and she knew I would be, I hate to say devastated over a teen movie, but...if I didn't get my hands on the DVD copy of "New Moon". She called on Friday to remind me that I could pick up my reserved copy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Yes, last year I took Gabe to Borders at midnight for the release of "Twilight" on DVD. This year, however, I was busy celebrating Sarah's birthday. That is true sacrifice. So after a late night of belated party going (we had a delicious opah dinner at Indigo, followed by "Jerseyshore" night at Pearl---now that is funny people watching), I woke up to find that I had caught a cold. I couldn't convince Isom to drive the five minutes to Borders to pick up my reserved copy, so, I had to make myself somewhat presentable to get the DVD myself. The remaining half of the day I got to enjoy the world of Forks and La Push while sipping on a Starbucks. A wonderful, relaxing end to vacation.

Mililani Exploration: Kipapa Stream Trail

Learn something new everyday. Today, I learned there is a lovely neighborhood park in walking distance from my house...and a fabulous hiking trail just behind that!  Today we were finally able to go on a hike---without driving (well, sort of...more on that later). We simply geared up, walked out of our house and to a trail we'd never explored before. Adventure Saturday! Today's hike was 2.2 miles (one way) on a partially old paved road, winding around the back woods of Mililani, down to Kipapa Stream, back up to...Costco in Waipio. Say what? We truly had not planned on arriving on the oustskirts of a farm that is directly across from our local Costco. Hiking truly lands you in the most unexpected places.   Along our route we encountered dirt bikers, a small band of pre-teen scooter riders, a couple of farm hands in a truck, a very intimidating junkyard dog, zero other hikers, and a friendly Starbucks Barista.  That's right, after our Saturday surprise hiking adventure, we f

I'm in love with this new outfit of Zach's. Okay, outfit might be stretching it...onesie. I have to share. As usual, the picture is sub standard, but if you click here , you can go to the website where other cuteness can be found. Better pictures there.
