City Griswolds, Go Country

Last year we enjoyed our day on the farm   with Tutu in tow. This year, we sure did miss her! I was forced to reap all the farm had to offer with just the boys.

Things like fresh squeezed lemonade in a giant mason jar. A giant piece of homemade fudge...quickly followed by the worlds best corn...refreshing ice cold watermelon.

We did more than just eat. We did the mini pumpkin catapult. I swear mine went the farthest. Nobody was watching though. We went on a hayride through the farm fields...where both ocean and mountain views are in your reach.

We carefully selected which pumpkins we would like to quickly have mold on our front porch (it happens extraordinarily fast in Hawaii).

We marveled at all things country (yeah, I know it's only a few miles outside the city). But with cows, turkeys, goats (a baby goat was just born hours before our arrival), limited cell reception, dust, and tractors...well, that seemed pretty country to me. And I loved it.

There was some ignored chatter about giving up our daily routine and going for that farm/country lifestyle...did you ever see Green Acres? We are all the Eva Gabor character. So after a good chuckle about that...

We readied ourselves to leave the simple country life behind and headed out.
Until next year...

Thanks for another fun autumn pumpkin picking adventure Waimanalo Country Farms!
