Tuesday Trail: Judd Trail

There are reindeer in Nu'uanu! Naughty reindeer! Thank goodness for short trails. Today, we ventured to the Nu'uanu Pali area for a quick loop trail and mini waterfall. The weather was perfect for a short trip into the woods.

This was our first time exploring Judd Trail. I had read a few Blog posts from other folks describing their experience with the trail and my interest was peaked.

This is not the trail to go on if you are looking for a workout. There are no steep inclines, no cliffs to maneuver, it's not even that long of a trail...you may not even break a sweat. But, it is the trail to go on to see lovely pines, hear a soothing stream, enjoy a waterfall, and escape town.

As soon as the trail begins you encounter a waterfall. It's ideal for those of us with limited attention spans.

Further on, there are river rocks and trees and bamboo galore.

And a dash of Christmas spirit!

Our morning trek to the woods would not have been complete without a five year old freakout over spiderwebs, a shin injury from sticks poking out of the ground, and a wardrobe change (used original shirt for nose blowing...life with kids)

I'd do this quick loop again...with tissues for the five year old and a long sleeve shirt for me (hikes with water always include the added fun gift of mosquitos).

Quick tip for those who require more exertion, when you leave this trail you drive directly in front of another popular waterfall trail---Lulumahu Falls (see one of my earlier Hiking post). These two hikes could easily be done back to back and you've already gotten a wee bit muddy and broken in by the mosquitos anyway...

Happy Trails~
